“Spider” Sculpture, Handmade from Recycled Tires and Earthquake Steel
Face your fears through art. This dramatic spider sculpture, born from personal phobia and salvaged chaos, transforms fear into a bold, physical form. Handcrafted entirely from recycled tires and steel, it stands as both an artistic statement and a symbol of confronting inner limits.
Materials:
Recycled Dirt Bike Tires – Rich, textured black surface across body and limbs
Bicycle Tire Wire – Forms the rounded abdomen with striking structure
Steel Armature – Reused from a collapsed wall following an earthquake
Steel Stand – Provides stability and adds industrial presence
Inner Tubes & Thin Tires – Wrap the legs for a flexible, raw aesthetic
Measurements:
Height: 85 cm
Width: 50 cm
Depth: 50 cm
Weight (with stand): approx. 15 kg
Design Story:
This sculpture was born from fear, literal arachnophobia.
“Both the presence and even the anticipation of spiders sends me into a state of panic. I created this piece to face that fear and maybe help others do the same.”
The sculpture’s haunting form combines natural realism with post-industrial texture. The abdomen’s circular volume and outstretched legs command attention, while the black tire relief creates a tactile, almost armor-like surface.
Display & Placement:
Best suited for indoor display. Can be placed in studios, galleries, or bold home interiors. Steel base keeps it freestanding and grounded
Care Instructions:
Dust gently with dry cloth. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight to preserve tire integrity. Handle with care due to steel edges and structure
A Singular Conversation Piece. No molds, no copies this is a one-of-a-kind sculpture, both in its materials and its emotional narrative. It challenges, intrigues, and invites reflection.
